Jets vs Bills Game Thread

NFL: New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Week 10 of the NFL season has the 3-6 New York Jets suffering through their second three game losing streak of the 2018 season. With their loss to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday the Jets faint playoff hopes were all but extinguished, making the rest of the season interesting for the fans mostly for the development of Sam Darnold. Unfortunately Darnold won’t be playing today, as he is suffering from a strained foot injured in the Dolphins game, leaving 39 year old quarterback Josh McCown under center in a game against an equally inept Buffalo Bills team. This game is for the true hard core Jets fan.

The Bills come into the game reeling, losers of four straight games. This Bills offense is truly offensive, having scored less than 14 points in each of their last six games and less than 10 points in each of their last three. Ouch. The Bills still have a pretty good defense, but the offense is so bad they just haven’t been scoring enough to have any realistic shot at winning most games.

The Jets unfortunately come into the game struggling almost as much as the Bills. The Jets, like the Bills, have a solid defense but a terrible offense. The Jets have scored 17 points or less in six out of nine games this season, and have lost each such game. Veteran quarterback Josh McCown may provide the offense with a spark in the absence of struggling rookie Sam Darnold, but watching McCown operating under center in a season that was supposed to be all about the development of the Jets rookie is unlikely to get many Jets fans’ hearts racing.

With two good defenses facing off against two terrible offenses this game has all the makings of a low scoring snooze fest. On its face it looks like the kind of game where the first team to 10 points wins.

It’s the Jets and the Bills in an AFC East grudge match without much juice. Leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
