Jets vs Broncos Game Thread

Week 5 of the NFL season has the New York Jets in crisis. After a big season opening win against the Detroit Lions that had Jets fans fired up about rookie quarterback Sam Darnold and the Jets’ season, the team and Darnold have crashed and burned, losing three games in a row and allowing progressively more points in each game, while never scoring more than 17.

The schedule gets a bit more favorable now, with a rare three game home stand starting today against the Denver Broncos. The Jets offensive line and Sam Darnold will have their hands full against what is still a formidable defense with some very good pass rushers, led by Von Miller. On defense the Jets must find a way to slow down the Broncos’ two star rookie running backs, Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman. If the Broncos running game can be shut down the Jets should have a good chance to break their three game losing streak, as Case Keenum should not present an overwhelming challenge in the passing game. However, the Jets offense will still have to find a way to reverse their slump against a very good Broncos defense, and Sam Darnold will need to start making some plays downfield while limiting turnovers.

It’s the Jets and the Broncos in unseasonably warm East Rutherford, New Jersey. Leave your comments in the section cleverly marked “comments” below. Enjoy the game everybody.
