As the Jets try to end their three game losing streak on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, they will have to do it without their top cornerback. Trumaine Johnson will sit out the game with a strained quad. Head coach Todd Bowles announced the news to the media on Friday.
On the severity of Trumaine Johnson injury...
He’ll be out this week, so we’re just monitor it after that and see how he’s feeling.
On is it a season-ending injury...
Not at this time, no it’s not.
On what is the injury...
Just a strain (quad).
On this injury happened yesterday...
Yes.
Johnson was the Jets’ biggest addition in free agency during the 2018 offseason. The team signed the former Rams cornerback to a 5 year, $72.5 million contract. Thus far the results have been disappointing as Johnson has been consistently burned in coverage through the first quarter of the season.
