Jets safety Marcus Maye left Sunday’s win over the Colts early with an injury. Manish Mehta says the news about the second year safety is not good.
#Jets safety Marcus Maye is expected to miss 3-4 weeks with a thumb injury suffered in yesterday’s win over #Colts, I’m told.

Maye left the stadium in a cast last night.
2018 is quickly becoming a lost season for Maye. The second year safety missed the first three games of the season with a lower body injury. He spent his offseason recovering from a separate ankle injury suffered in the 2017 season finale against the Patriots that required surgery.
In the three games he has played in 2018, Maye has 20 tackles, half a sack, and a memorable interception at the end of the game against Denver that he almost returned for a touchdown.
Doug Middleton saw extensive playing time in Maye’s absence early in the year. He is the likely candidate to take over again. One might wonder whether the Jets will look to bring back the recently cut J.J. Wilcox who is currently a free agent.
