Sunday Night Football, Week 6. Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Foxboro, Massachusetts to take on the New England Patriots in what could be a preview of the AFC Championship game.

The last time these two teams met the Chiefs stunned the world with a blowout 47-27 win in the 2017 season opener in Foxboro. Tonight the Chiefs try to make it two in a row over the Patriots in the Patriots’ own building.

The Chiefs come into the game on a roll, with a perfect 5-0 record and sporting one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Second year phenom quarterback Patrick Mahomes is playing at an All Pro level in his first year as a starter, and he is surrounded by explosive weapons at the skill positions like tight end Travis Kelce, running back Kareem Hunt and receiver Tyreek Hill. The Chiefs have yet to score less than 27 points in any game this season, and it will be a challenge for the Patriots to keep pace.

The Patriots come into the game looking just a bit vulnerable this year, with a 3-2 record. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady has not been quite the same dominant force this year as the Patriots have lost talent at the offensive skill positions and favorite target Julian Edelman served a four game suspension to start the year. With Edelman back on the field, newly acquired wide receiver Josh Gordon providing a major talent boost if he can get his head straight, and Sony Michel rounding into form as the top weapon at running back the Patriots envisioned when they drafted him, New England may be on the verge of an offensive explosion.

This one could be a highly entertaining match with offensive fireworks galore. It’s the Chiefs and the Patriots in a great Sunday Night Football clash.

Enjoy the game everybody.
