This is no great surprise. Both have been projected as high first round picks since before the season started and generally viewed as likely to enter the Draft. Rosen in particular became a virtual lock to declare once Chip Kelly was hired as UCLA head coach. There wasn’t much playing in Kelly’s system for a year would do to help him develop further as a pro.
Rosen and Darnold might not be options for the Jets picking sixth in the first round. There is a real chance they go off the board in the first two picks. If nothing else, this is good news for the Jets. Even if these two aren’t there when the Jets pick, they will push other quarterbacks deeper into the Draft where the Jets will be picking.
