The Jets have not yet made an official announcement on their new offensive coordinator, but a report came out Monday suggesting it will be quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Jets are expected to promote Bates, who joined Todd Bowles’ staff a year ago, to replace John Morton.

Today’s podcast is focused on the move. Is it a good move? What does it mean?

I think the optics of the entire search left something to be desired, but optics aren’t everything. This will ultimately come down to how effectively Bates can do the job, and there are some reasons for optimism on that front. We also will talk about the type of scheme Bates will install. It could be one that will help a young quarterback produce.
