We start our podcast today with a PSA. The Jets announced on Tuesday they are either freezing or cutting the prices of tickets throughout MetLife Stadium. Season ticket holders will all get Jets Cash to use for food or merchandise, and prices will be at their lowest rate for Jets games since MetLife Stadium opened.
The bulk of today’s podcast focuses on maximizing the efficiency of the roster. While teams in other sports have entire minor league systems dedicated to developing prospects, NFL teams only get 53 roster and 10 practice squad spots. That puts a pretty big limit on what teams can do cultivating young talent. It makes the use of every roster spot important. Each spot is a valuable resource that should not be wasted. Each should go either to a player helping the team today in an important role or somebody who can help the team in the future.
We explore this in more depth and check out how it pertains to the Jets.
