We come to the nightcap of the Saturday playoff games on divisional weekend. Tonight we have the Tennessee Titans traveling north to frigid New England to take on Tom Brady and The Rule Breakers.
The Tennessee Titans come into the game huge underdogs after squeaking by the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round. The Titans will need to feed the ball to running back Derrick Henry repeatedly and hope they can grind out a low scoring victory. Quarterback Marcus Mariota wasn't healthy most of the year and had a down year as a result, but he's healthy now and perhaps his arm and his running can help the Titans stay in the game.
The New England Patriots come into the game as the #1 seed in the AFC. The Patriots have not been eliminated in the divisional round since the New York Jets knocked them off in the 2010/11 playoffs. The Patriots may be a bit vulnerable this year as future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady has been a little banged up lately. This has shown up in his spotty play over the last several weeks, as Brady uncharacteristically has had only one game in the last five in which his passer rating has exceeded 88, and he has been intercepted six times in the last six games. If Brady is off today that opens the window perhaps just enough to give the Titans a chance in what otherwise looks like a mismatch.
It's the Titans and the Patriots in the second game of a Saturday evening divisional doubleheader.
Enjoy the game everybody.
