The New York Jets have released their first official depth chart of 2017. A few things of note stick out to me. Bryce Petty is listed as the second string quarterback. Kelvin Beachum and Brandon Shell are the starting tackles. Juston Burris appears to be the starting outside cornerback in nickle sets. Marcus Williams is listed as third string, behind Burris and Darryl Roberts. Jermaine Kearse is the starting wide receiver opposite Robby Anderson. The two rookie draft picks, ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen, are listed as the third and fourth receivers. Josh Martin appears to be the first string edge rushing outside linebacker, and Eric Tomlinson (gulp!) is listed as the starting tight end. Matt Forte is listed as the starting running back.
I’m not quite sure how much to make of the depth chart, as at times it appears the Jets’ coaching staff doesn’t take it very seriously, but for what it’s worth, here it is:
