Friday afternoon before a long holiday weekend is typically not a point where people pay attention to the news. The Jets made a move that was bound to draw attention yesterday, though. The team shipped Sheldon Richardson to the Seattle Seahawks along with a seventh round pick. In exchange, the Jets received a second round pick, a seventh round pick, and wide receiver Jermaine Kearse.
This calls for a special Saturday podcast. Upon hearing about this trade, I couldn’t help but think back to another trade the Jets made around a decade ago. It was a trade of a talented player, and there were certainly detractors. The trade ended up being a good thing for all parties involved, both teams and the player. You can tune in to hear that comparison and my thoughts overall on the deal.
