MNF: Lions vs Giants Game Thread

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Monday Night Football, Week 2. The 2017 NFL Monday Night slate continues with an NFC showdown between the last place New York Giants and the first place Detroit Lions. The Lions travel to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the Giants in what is shaping up to be an important game for the Men in Blue, as they try to avoid starting the season 0-2 with two NFC losses. Both teams came into this season with legitimate playoff aspirations.

Star receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. may or may not take the field for the Giants, as he is dealing with a lingering ankle injury. Without OBJ, the Giants passing offense, led by quarterback Eli Manning, looked out of synch last week against the Cowboys, as former Jet Brandon Marshall was expected to take up the slack but was a non-factor in the game. On defense the Giants look to dominate with their front four, including old friend Damon Harrison, one of the fiercest in the NFL.

The Lions counter with star quarterback Matthew Stafford, a slew of talented targets, and an under-appreciated defense that may give the Giants fits if they are on their game.

Enjoy the game everybody. As always we ask that you neither ask for nor post illegal streaming links.
