The Jets are now 0-2 in the 2017 season. New York lost to the Raiders today in Oakland by a 45-20 score. This is the first time in a decade that the Jets have lost their first two games in a season. If today is any indication, there will be plenty more losses where that came from.
The Jets actually put up a surprising fight for the first 28 minutes of this game. They were trailing 14-10 and were about to get the ball back just before the 2:00 warning with a chance to score go into the locker room with a lead. Then Kalif Raymond muffed a punt, the Raiders recovered at the 4, and Marshawn Lynch punched it in a few plays later.
The second half was brutal as the defense allowed a pair of touchdown runs over 40 yards, and the offense struggled to get anything going until a garbage time touchdown.
