TNF: Texans vs Bengals Game Thread

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Thursday Night Football, Week 2. The Houston Texans travel to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in what is shaping up to be a crucial matchup already for both teams. With both teams coming into the game 0-1 on the year, the losing team will go to 0-2. What's worse, the Bengals travel to Green Bay next week, and the Texans travel to New England, meaning it's very likely the loser of this contest is staring at an 0-3 opening to their season. An 0-3 record makes a playoff run very unlikely, making this something of a must win situation for both teams, even if it is just the second week of the season.

Tonight's contest features the first career start for the Texans' presumed quarterback of the future, Deshaun Watson. Last week Texans' quarterbacks were sacked a whopping 10 times, so Houston will need to improve their pass protection if they want the rookie to have a chance to succeed.

Speaking of pass protection, the Bengals had major offensive line problems of their own last week, leading to an ugly four interception performance for quarterback Andy Dalton.

The Texans have won six of the last seven meetings between these two teams. We'll see if they can keep that going tonight.

Enjoy the game everybody. As always we ask that you neither ask for nor post illegal streaming links.
