Ross Martin Among Cuts as Jets Reduce Roster to 76 Players

The Jets cut their roster down from 90 players to 76 today.

The most surprising cut was arguably kicker Ross Martin. By most accounts, Martin was better than Chandler Catanzaro in the training camp kicker competition. Apparently the only people who believed Martin was not the better kicker were the people whose vote mattered.

We will have to see whether this means the Jets will keep Catanzaro or are planning on bringing in a kicker from outside the organization off the waiver wire.

The team must get from 76 players down to 53 by 4:00 p.m. Eastern tomorrow afternoon.

Here are the players the Jets took off their roster today.
