With the final preseason game in the books, we enter the cutdown period. By 4:00 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, teams must cut their rosters to 53 players. After that point, some of the players cut will populate practice squads.
This year’s cutdown period will be particularly wild. Teams are not cutting down from 75 players like normal. They have 90 players. That means over 1,000 players will be let go over the next two days. Expect to see a lot of activity on the waiver wire.
The Jets have tended to announce their cuts on deadline day in the past, but with more players to shed, they could begin today. We are ready with this cutdown tracker that will provide live updates of any events.
The GGN Twitter widget will refresh automatically as news breaks of players cut. It also will provide you with any other Jets news from Friday. The widget is always a roster lock.
