Jets head coach Todd Bowles revealed more information about the neck injury that will keep Quincy Enunwa out for the entire 2017 season.
On Quincy Enunwa’s injury…
He has a bulging disk in his neck. Barring a second opinion, he’s probably going to have to get surgery. He’ll be out about six to nine months.
On if the injury is career threatening…
They said it wasn’t. Going forward we’ll see. They said he should come out okay.
There are not many silver linings here. The fact the injury will not threaten his career is good. There is also the flip side to the injury happening in August. While it will cost Enunwa the 2017 season, it happened early enough that it should not impact his 2018 season. That timeframe has Enunwa back at full strength at some point during the offseason program next year, perhaps before it begins.
You have to search for the positives on a day like this.
