The Jets already seemed to be in pretty rough shape at the receiver position. Now comes this news. Of the receivers on the team, Enunwa was the only one who had so much as a single 600 yard season in the NFL. With him gone, Robby Anderson’s 42 catch, 587 yard rookie campaign in 2016 amounts to the best season any current Jets receiver has posted in the league.
Even with an offense at full strength, this felt to me like an offense that was going to have trouble having success. Arguably the best playmaker the unit has is now gone for the year. Enunwa also quietly provided value as a blocker.
If you were to ask me the worst thing that could happen to this team in training camp, losing Enunwa would be at the top of the list. Now it has happened.
