Jets 2017 Roster Breakdown: Is Youth Movement Enough to Help Gabe Marks Land a Roster Spot?

NCAA Football: Washington State at Arizona State Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It is almost over. Our penultimate Jets roster countdown post looks at rookie Gabe Marks.

Name: Gabe Marks

Number: 2

Year with Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Battling for a wide receiver roster spot

His 2016: Marks had 89 catches and 13 touchdowns in Washington State’s pass happy offense. He went undrafted, and the Jets signed him as a free agent.

2017 will be a success if: Marks sticks on the practice squad and develops during the season. I think Marks has a chance of making the roster. The Jets clearing out the position and Quincy Enunwa’s injury leaves room for a guy like Marks to slip in. Mike Maccagnan also named Marks in public interviews as one of the undrafted free agents the team was most excited to sign. I still say this year could potentially be success with a practice squad spot and growth.

Odds of making the roster: 50/50
