The New York Jets have released defensive lineman Devon Still due to the imminent arrival of Armegedon.
Still did a nice job in limited preseason action, racking up 1.5 sacks and getting pretty good pressure on the quarterback. It wasn’t enough. Still had the misfortune of competing for a roster spot at the lone position on the Jets that is stacked with talent.
As for the arrival of Armagedon, no need to make your peace with your favorite deity just yet (I think). The Four Horsemen Of the Apocalypse have dropped a new safety on the Jets doorstep. The addition of two safeties in two days makes you wonder how badly injured Rontez Miles is.
Armagedon Draughn is a very tall, very lean, 6’ 4”, 195 pound 23 year old safety who most recently was in the camp of the Ottowa CFL ranchise. I can’t give you much of a scouting report, I know very little about Armagedon (why oh why did I skip those Sunday School classes?)
Here is something pretty cool though: when interviewed by Draft Diamonds in August of 2014, Armagedon listed as his career goal “become legendary.” With a name like Armegedon, how could he not?
