The Jets are nearing the end of training camp in 2017. The team plays its third preseason game Saturday night against the New York Giants, the annual battle between the cross-stadium rivals with little on the line other than a trophy with a beloved cartoon dog on it.
On today’s podcast, we take on a pair of news stories that have come from Jets training camp this week. Todd Bowles has stated the Jets will wait until after their third preseason game to name a Week 1 starting quarterback. Veteran running back Matt Forte also seems to be fully recovered from his hamstring injury and should be ready for Week 1.
Today I will discuss the implications for Christian Hackenberg. Should the young quarterback start? I am leaning in the direction of no. You can listen for my reasoning. In the case of Forte, my question isn’t whether he will be ready. It is how the Jets will use him.
