Enunwa Injury Not Career Threatening

The popular wide receiver says he’ll be back in 2018, and he’ll be back stronger.

Todd Bowles revealed that Quincy Enunwa was set to have surgery next week on the neck injury that has ruled him out for the 2017 season. There were some murmurings about the extent of the injury, with some even wondering if it could put the promising career of Quincy in doubt, however you can rest a little easier.

When asked if the injury was career threatening, Bowles confirmed that he had been told that it wasn’t, and although Enunwa has a long rehabilitation ahead of him, he has vowed to come back stronger than ever:

It’s a very cruel blow for Enunwa who had a breakout season in 2016, leading the Jets with 857 yards and 4 TD’s. Quincy was heading into the 2017 season as the #1 receiver on this young Jets roster with the opportunity to flourish. Unfortunately that will need to wait until 2018. Although Enunwa is set to be a restricted free agent after the 2017 season, nobody expects Enunwa to be playing anywhere but New York in 2018.
