Jets 2017 Roster Breakdown: Can Marquess Wilson Stay Healthy?

NFL: Tennessee Titans at New York Jets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Our Jets roster countdown now takes a look at Marquess Wilson.

Name: Marquess Wilson

Number: 10

Year with Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Competing for a wide receiver roster spot

His 2016: Wilson’s recovery from a broken foot didn’t go well. He broke his foot a second time during the summer. This led to him starting the season on the PUP list. After only 3 games and 9 catches, Wilson broke his foot again which ended his season.

2017 will be a success if: Wilson can stay healthy and be a productive part of the passing game. Staying healthy is no small matter. He has been in the league since 2013 but only played in 31 games in his career. He was on pace for around 700 yards in 2015 before suffering the first broken foot so there might be some hope of him developing into a functional receiver, although his ceiling doesn’t seem terribly high.

Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (25-50%)
