Jets Preseason Winners and Losers: Five Losers Against the Titans

NFL: Tennessee Titans at New York Jets Dennis Schneidler-USA TODAY Sports

Who did not have a great night for the Jets in the first preseason game of 2017? Let’s take a look.

Jalin Marshall: Marshall is already behind the eight ball a bit due to his suspension. He began the 2017 preseason with a drop and a penalty that wiped out a big run.

Darryl Roberts: Roberts was burned for a 42 yard completion that he was lucky did not turn into a 67 yard touchdown.

Chandler Catanzaro: The import from Arizona missed a 55 yard field goal attempt. It isn’t that missing a 55 yarder is a knock against him per se. It is a difficult kick. The issue is that by most accounts Catanzaro has fallen behind Ross Martin in the kicking competition. He might need something big to reset the competition and put his name back on the radar. A long kick like that could have done it.

Julian Howsare: Howsare’s drop in the red zone won’t help his chances. To be fair, his competition also had a drop, but Anthony Firkser also had a reception.

Romar Morris: Elijah McGuire’s final stat line doesn’t look great, but he had runs of 11 and 14 yards wiped out by penalties. McGuire looked elusive during his brief action. Morris, who might be competing with him for a roster spot only had 20 yards on 12 carries.
