After reportedly having a solid Monday at practice, the news from Tuesday’s Jets training camp practice sounded a bit less promising for quarterback Christian Hackenberg.
Hackenberg struggling again in 7-on-7. Morton made him huddled up offense again #jets

Oomf: Horrid throw from Hackenberg. Threw into double coverage on deep post. McDougle picks it off, but Thomas had a shot at it, too #jets

So far today, Christian Hackenberg has thrown one pick in a one-on-one drill and one in seven-on-seven. #Jets

Not a good practice for Hackenberg. Several passes bounced well short to WRs in front of him. Growing pains. #jets

Ranking the @NYJets QB performances at practice today. (A nondescript session).

1) Josh McCown
2) Christian Hackenberg
3) Bryce Petty
While Josh McCown seemed to win the day, one doesn't get the sense he was playing terribly exciting football. There were lots of short completions.
A lot of dink-dunk in team, with McCown throwing short to TEs and RBs. Brian Parker made a nice catch on short pass for big gain. #Jets

Latest on the Jets' QB competition : Josh McCown won the day, completing 16 of 19 in what I'd call a conservative passing offense. Christian Hackenberg (7-for-12) worked with the second team again. Bryce Petty (6-for-8) appears to have fallen behind. Rep counts; McCown 27, Hackenberg 18, Petty 9.
As always, don't read too much into one day of practice.
