Jets 2017 Roster Breakdown: Chris Bordelon Hopes to Impress in Training Camp

NFL: Buffalo Bills at New York Jets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Our Jets roster countdown now turns its attention to Chris Bordelon

Name: Chris Bordelon

Number: 60

Year with Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Competing for backup offensive line roster spot and/or practice squad slot

His 2016: Bordelon was named Second Team All Southland Conference in his final season at Nicholls State. He was undrafted and signed by the Jets as a free agent. Bordelon joins the Jets ten years after the team used a late round pick on another lineman from Nicholls State, Jacob Bender.

2017 will be a success if: Bordelon earns a practice squad slot and shows enough progress through the season to keep his spot. As is the case with numerous players at training camp, Bordelon looks the part of a project. Even if he is to develop into a productive player for the Jets, it likely won’t happen this year. In the present, it is going to be weird to see an offensive lineman wearing number 60 playing in the fourth quarter of preseason games trying to earn a roster spot.

Odds of making the roster: Longshot (less than 25%)
