The Jets have claimed wide receiver Lucky Whitehead off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.
Former Cowboys' WR Lucky Whitehead got claimed on waivers by NY Jets, per source.

Whitehead was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and was waived recently.
If you have been following the news, you know there was a backstory to the Cowboys letting him go. Reports came out last week that Whitehead had been arrested for shoplifting in Virginia. The Cowboys waived him after those reports, but it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity. Needless to say, the Cowboys did not exactly cover themselves in glory with their rush to judgment.
Whitehead will likely have a much better chance to make the Jets’ roster than he would have had to make the Dallas roster. With that said, it isn’t clear how much anybody could expect. He only has 9 receptions in 2 seasons. Whitehead does have some experience as a return man, but his 25.6 average on kickoff returns and 6.9 average on punt returns are unspectacular.
