Jets 2017 Roster Breakdown: Corey Lemonier Had a Brief Cameo Last Year

New, comments

Our Jets roster countdown now takes a look at Corey Lemonier

Name: Corey Lemonier

Number: 44

Year with Jets: 2nd

Projected Role: Competing for edge rusher spot

His 2016: Lemonier spent 2016 with four different organizations. He spent training camp and the preseason with the 49ers, the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The Niners waived him at the end of the preseason, and the Browns claimed him. He lasted in Cleveland until December, when he was waived and claimed by the Lions. He lasted around a week before being waived again. The Jets then claimed him. Lemonier saw action in the season finale against Buffalo.

2017 will be a success if: Lemonier finds his way onto the team and carves out a depth role. It is tough to feel optimistic, though. He has been in the league since 2013 and not done much to show he will become a quality player. Three teams gave up on him last year alone.

Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (25-50%)
