Our Jets roster countdown now takes a look at Frank Beltre.

Name: Frank Beltre

Number: 57

Year with Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Competing for playing time on the defensive edge and special teams

His 2016: Beltre recorded 15 tackles on defense and 3 sacks for the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL. He also stuck out on special teams a bit with 4 tackles. After the season, the Jets signed him. Beltre joins his former Calgary teammate Freddie Bishop with the Jets.

2017 will be a success if: Beltre turns into a player with any sort of value for the Jets. At 27, he might not have a high ceiling, but the Jets don’t have much invested in him. If he can become a contributor in any kind of role, even as a depth guy, it would have to be considered a win. There is plenty of opportunity with this team.

Odds of making the roster: 50/50
