Our Jets roster countdown turns its attention to Connor Harris.
Name: Connor Harris
Number: 59
Year with Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Competing for a backup inside linebacker job/special teams roster spot
His 2016: Harris was selected First Team All America at Division II Lindenwood. During the season, he became the NCAA’s all-time leading tackler. After going undrafted, he signed with the Jets.
2017 will be a success if: Harris makes the practice squad and sticks. The roster might be a tall hill for him to climb. Darron Lee is a lock to make the team, while Demario Davis and Bruce Carter are likely close to locks. That does not leave many inside linebacker slots open. Harris will likely need to impress on special teams to make the team. Short of that, a practice squad spot could be his destiny. It isn’t crazy to think he might be able to develop into a player, though. Every now and then you run into an overlooked inside linebacker prospect whose instincts lead him to become a player.
Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (25-50%)
