Report: Jets Have Discussed Eric Decker Trade With Ravens, Other Teams

NFL: New York Jets-OTA Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets are looking to trade wide receiver Eric Decker. Albert Breer reports the Baltimore Ravens are one of the teams they have been talking with.

One is left to wonder whether a Decker trade might have to wait for free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin to find a home somewhere. Maclin is currently a free agent, which makes him theoretically more attractive than Decker since a receiver team would not need to trade anything to get him.

Will Decker be traded? It is tricky. How much will teams be willing to give up for a receiver coming off two serious injuries and could very well end up being cut? Perhaps the Jets can work out some sort of trade for a conditional Draft pick with compensation being determined by Decker’s health and/or production. Either way, it would be wise to keep expectations low on what the Jets will be able to get in return for Decker.
