Our Jets roster countdown continues today with number 94 Brandin Bryant.
Name: Brandin Bryant
Number: 94
Year with Jets: 2nd
Projected Role: Competing for one of the last roster spots or a practice squad slot as a defensive lineman
His 2016: Bryant went undrafted out of Florida Atlantic. He caught on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent but failed to make the team. He was signed to the Jets practice squad in October and earned a callup to the active roster near the end of the regular season.
2017 will be a success if: Bryant sticks on the practice squad. At defensive line, he would have to leapfrog a lot of people to earn a spot on the 53 man roster. At the very least, earning a promotion to the active roster at the end of 2016 says something positive about him, but it is a much greater challenge to take a slot out of training camp, before the team has extra roster spots available due to injuries. Given his competition and his status as a second year guy out of a relatively small school, I think sticking on the practice squad would be a positive for this year.
Odds of making the roster: Long shot (under 25%)
