New Jets running backs coach Stump Mitchell had high praise for Bilal Powell at today’s minicamp.
Jets RB coach Stump Mitchell says Bilal Powell would be a Pro Bowl back if he was featured back #nyj

It isn't clear whether Powell could produce over the course of an entire season. He has never been the top back in any offense during his career.
It was clear by the eyeball test throughout the 2016 season that Powell was the most explosive back the team had. It was clear to everybody except the coaching staff, which refused to feature Powell in the offense until an injury to Matt Forte forced Powell into the lineup.
We will have to wait and see how the Jets deploy their backs this season, but it has to be an encouraging sign to hear these words out of the new position coach.
