Jets Cut Eric Decker as Minicamp Set to Begin

NFL: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets continued their roster purge on Monday, releasing veteran wide receiver Eric Decker after three seasons with the team. Decker’s release was anything but a surprise. The team announced it was coming last week if a trade involving the receiver could not be worked out.

On the podcast today we talk about Decker’s release. Why couldn’t the team trade him? There are a number of reasons we will discuss. We will also jump into a small signing the Jets are reportedly going to make, Jordan Todman.

This leads into the start of veteran minicamp. Once a year players are required to attend offseason practices. Everything up to this point has been optional. What should people watch for? How serious should reports be taken?
