It was a relatively busy Tuesday for the Jets in terms of news. News broke that the team will not pick up Calvin Pryor’s fifth year option by today’s deadline. That is no great surprise. It has been expected for weeks. If it wasn’t obvious before last weekend, it became obvious that Pryor is probably not part of the team’s long-term plans. There had been indications all offseason that the Jets were going to decline the option anyway, but the team picking safeties in the first two rounds put any ambiguity to rest.
Team owner Woody Johnson also spoke to ESPN Radio in New York. He offered his thoughts on the state of the team and the plan going forward.
On today’s podcast, we break both of these down. What do these things mean?
