Jets Host Free Agent Wide Receiver Kenbrell Thompkins

The Jets love a wide receiver.

The Jets are jam-packed at wide receiver after taking two pass-catchers in the 2017 NFL draft, however that doesn't mean they're done doing their due diligence.

NFL media insider Ian Rapoport reported today that the Jets had hosted former receiver Kenbrell Thompkins. Thompkins played for the Jets back in 2015, but was released before the 2016 season and failed to catch on with another team.

Over his 4 years in the NFL, Thompkins has recorded 70 receptions for 893 yards and 4 touchdowns, with the majority of his production coming with the New England Patriots.

Thompkins appeared in 7 games for the Jets in 2015, starting two. He recorded 17 receptions for 165 yards and failed to reach the end-zone in green and white. He failed to stand out in 2015, and there is little so suggest a year out of football would enable him to rise above the talented (if young) set of receivers the Jets currently have.
