Good morning, everybody. As you may have noticed, the powers that be at SB Nation have made a decision to change the layout of this site as they believed you would like this new one.
They are launching a sweepstakes for a $500 Fanatics gift card. You need to explain why you are a Jets fan. Details of the contest will be below. Many of you share your stories with the GGN community each year during our annual bye week post explaining why we are fans so this would just be an extension of that.
Before I ask you why you are a fan, I guess I should share why I am a Jets fan. It's pretty simple. My dad was a Jets fan. When I was a kid,I didn't pick any of the other teams he roots for. I even picked one he hated, the Yankees. I wanted to have at least one team we could cheer for together.
The funny thing is he wasn't thrilled with my decision. Multiple times he tried to convince me to root for the Giants to spare myself the pain the Jets put him through. He told me there was still time for me to change. There wasn't, though. Once you pick your team, they are your team. So here I am all these years later.
