Jets Take Trubisky in 2017 NFL Mock Draft

NCAA Football: North Carolina at Florida State Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Dan Kadar and SB Nation have their latest mock draft out. The Jets are swinging for the fences at the quarterback position in it.

6. New York Jets: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

There have been enough reports about the Jets liking Trubisky that either they’ve put down the most elaborate smoke screen possible, or they have a rat in the front office. Although the Jets have invested a lot of draft capital at quarterback, if they like Trubisky that much, it doesn’t matter. Suddenly, Christian Hackenberg is trade bait (if there’s even a suitor).

The first five picks in this mock are Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Jonathan Allen, O.J. Howard, and Malik Hooker.

I don’t know that the Jets are necessarily as interested in Trubisky as this mock is claiming. They have been linked to other quarterbacks as well. One thing that is true is the team probably will not hesitate to pick a signal caller if there is one it really likes. Having Hackenberg and Bryce Petty around should not stop that.
