Devin Smith Out For 2017

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets have announced wide receiver Devin Smith has torn his ACL and will miss the entire 2017 football season.

This is the latest in a slew of injuries that have hampered Smith's career development since he was drafted in 2015.  Missing another season with a knee injury may seal his fate with the Jets.

Smith has not seen the field much since his rookie year.  He will enter the 2018 season on the last year of his rookie contract having never gone through an NFL training camp.  If Devin Smith's Jets career ultimately ends with this injury he will finish with 10 catches on 34 targets for 135 yards and one touchdown in 14 NFL games.
