My SB Nation colleague Brett Kollmann put together a first round mock draft in the latest installment of his Film Room series. He took a player with each pick. It is a lengthy video.
At the 10:36 mark of the video, the Jets are on the clock. With Myles Garrett, O.J. Howard, Jamal Adams, Leonard Fournette, and Mike Williams off the board, Brett goes with Ohio State safety Malik Hooker with the sixth pick.
If this is the way the board falls, Hooker makes all the sense in the world. Unlike some of the other guys picked ahead of them, a lot of refinement to his game will be necessary, but he has skills covering the deep zone in the passing game that cannot be taught. His range is fantastic, and his ball skills and recognition are top notch, which is impressive for a guy who doesn’t even have a ton of playing experience yet.
What do you think about this?
