Nick Marshall Suspended Four Games

Jets cornerback Nick Marshall has been suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season as a result of a violation of the league’s PED policy.

Marshall got work as a returner for the Jets last season but only averaged 19 yards per kickoff return and 6.5 yards per punt return.

Marshall was a quarterback in college who is attempting to convert to a defensive back in the pros. His primary function would likely be as a returner, but he would have a chance to make the team as a cornerback if he showed improvement. The Jets need good people at the slot.

This hurts Marshall’s chances of making the team. Jalin Marshall’s suspension made it more likely Nick Marshall would win the return competition, but this puts Nick at the exact same disadvantage. Now neither guy will be the return guy for the first quarter of the season. Somebody else has a chance to win and keep that job.
