Mark Sanchez is a famous name in the Jets fanbase for many reasons. One of the most subtle is he remains the last first round pick the Jets made on the offensive side of the ball. The Jets moved up to pick him in 2009. Each year since (and twice in 2013 due to the Darrelle Revis trade), the Jets have used a first round pick on a defensive player.
This might make you say the team should look to go with an offensive player in the first round. I’d have to disagree with you there. That is the topic of our podcast today. I’m not saying the Jets have to take a defensive player with the sixth pick (or a different pick if they trade up or down). I’m just saying it has to be a consideration.
