Hopefully Marcus Cooper doesn't decide to sign somewhere else as soon as I hit publish, thanks a lot Kyle!

According to a report by Connor Hughes, the Jets are looking into former Rutgers star and Arizona Cardinals cornerback Marcus Cooper.

Cooper was a 7th round pick of the 49'ers in 2013, but failed to make the final roster, getting the chop during final cuts.

He was then picked up by the Chiefs and spent three years in Kansas before being traded to the Cardinals before the 2016 season. He is coming off a career year in which he had 69 tackles and 4 interceptions.

Cooper is a big corner with plenty of speed and an ability to make plays on the ball. Cooper is an Arizona corner through and through, he's long with a lot of athleticism and good speed. Marcus never played under Todd Bowles, but with a similar system he could flourish with the Jets. He would also be a lot cheaper than several other options like A.J Bouye and Stephon Gilmore.

The Jets desperately need help at corner, and taking a chance on an athletic corner like Cooper may not be a bad idea.
