Former New York Jets receiver Brandon Marshall has decided to stay in New York with the cross town New York Giants according to an NFL.com report
The deal is for two year and $12 million and he’ll give the Giants a target to take some pressure off Odell Beckham Jr.
Marshall spent 2 years in New York with the Jets, enjoying a superb 2015 campaign where he caught 109 balls for 1502 yards and 14 touchdowns. It was one of the most seasons for a receiver in NFL history.
2016 was largely a disappointment. With uneven QB play, Marshall failed to generate any consistency and laboured to a 59 catch 788 yard season with just 3 TD’s.
The Jets released Marshall earlier this week at the players request, saving $7.5 million of cap space at the same time. It was widely reported that the Jets offered Marshall an extension, but with the receiver turning 33 this month, his career ambitions didn’t fit with the Jets need to rebuild.
I think we all wish Brandon well with the Giants.
