NFL Combine Results: Christian McCaffrey Emerges as Winner from Running Back Group

New, comments
NFL: Combine Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Friday at the Combine, running backs, offensive linemen, and specialists hit the drills.

Former Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey had a big day. His 4.48 time in the 40 yard dash was solid, putting him in the top five. He posted the best 60 yard shuffle and the second best vertical jump at 37.5 inches.

Leonard Fournette could really only hurt himself entering the Combine, but he probably didn’t. Despite weighing in at 240, a little above his stated playing weight, Fournette still clocked in a 4.51 time at the 40 yard dash, which is excellent for a guy of his size. The 40 probably wasn’t that important for Fournette since he’s been clocked in actual game situations at a blazing speed, but this time won’t move the needle in a negative way.
