According to a report by Adam Schefter, the New York Giants are set to sign Geno Smith:
Giants expected to sign former Jets QB Geno Smith, per @JordanRaanan and me. Smith and Brandon Marshall teammates again.

It had been reported that the Jets were open to bringing Geno back, although I think we can all appreciate that a new start was probably best for both Geno and the Jets.
It's hard to argue anything but the fact that Geno was a huge disappointment out of West Virginia. A 2nd round pick out of West Virginia, Smith never seemed to grasp the mental side of the game and when was given a chance...all be it with a poor supporting cast, he failed to make the most of it.
Geno appeared in 33 games for the Jets making 30 starts. He completed 57.9% of his passes for 5,962 yards, throwing 28 touchdowns to 36 interceptions for a 72.4 QB rating. He also fumbled the football 17 times over that 33 game span. I can't see Geno ever putting it all together on the NFL level, but he's young enough to take a chance on if you're the Giants.
