The Jets are out and about at several pro days at the moment. Tight End coach Jimmie Johnson was at the Clemson Pro Day. Representatives were present at the Vanderbilt session, Virginia, Kansas State and Penn State among others.
One interesting note coming from Kristian Dyer of Metro NY is that Jets outside linebackers coach Kevin Greene was on hand in Wisconsin, and worked out two linebackers in Vince Biegel and T.J Watt.
The Jets have failed to improve their team through free agency, unless you go in for the addition by subtraction motion. So there will be a lot of eyes on the draft, with so many holes to fill, the Jets will need to prioritise their selections. Getting help at linebacker is probably one area the team would like to address.
Vince Biegel is a senior who's experienced some issues with his foot, including a broken foot in 2016. He finished the year with 44 tackles, 6 for a loss and 4 sacks. He's got good hands and sets the edge well, but if you're looking for a dynamic pass rusher, you're probably not going to find it in Biegel.
T.J Watt, younger brother of J.J had a fine season for Wisconsin in 2016. He finished the year with 63 tackles, 15.5 for a loss and 11.5 sacks. He's not on the level of J.J, but so few people are. However T.J had a fantastic combine and reports suggest he had a great pro day as well. He's got great hands, and with a little more time in a strength program, he's going to cause problems at the next level. He's also a tireless worker, I think he has a bright future.
