Cadet visited with the Jets last weekend and was reportedly offered a contract by the Jets.
The 28 year old was undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2012. He spent the first three years of his career with the Saints. He then caught on with the Patriots briefly in 2015 before being waived. The 49ers then briefly brought him aboard in 2015 before he was waived again. Finally, he returned to the Saints near the end of 2015.
To this point in his career, Cadet has been used more as a receiver than a rusher. He only carried the ball four times in 2016 and has 26 career rushing attempts. He did have a 38 catch season in 2014 and 40 receptions in 2016, though.
Jets offensive coordinator John Morton knew him from their time together in New Orleans and presumably had something to do with the Jets’ interest. Cadet preferred to stay with the Saints, though.
