Connor Hughes reports the Jets have interest in veteran free agent cornerback Brandon Carr.

The Jets have expressed interest in ex-Cowboys defensive back Brandon Carr, a source familiar with their thinking told NJ Advance Media. A visit hasn't been scheduled yet, but "they like him," the source said.

Carr is 30 years old and will be 31 by the time the season starts. He has spent the last five years with the Cowboys after spending the first four years of his career with the Chiefs.

Our network’s Cowboys site Blogging the Boys recently named Carr as the most important free agent for the Cowboys to re-sign.

Dallas really needs Brandon Carr back.

The main reason to bring Carr back is that he’s dependable. He’s never missed a game for Dallas. Last season, he played 1,015 snaps, and would have played more, but they took him out of the final game of the year. He also had a bit of a resurgence switching back to the right cornerback position, where he had the most success in Kansas City.

It doesn’t sound like there is anything cooking right now, but maybe the Jets will get involved with Carr.
