It has been a sleepy weekend so far for the Jets in free agency after a relative flourish on Friday.
The team did host free agent running back Travaris Cadet from the Saints. The Jets have brought a number of imports at the running back position from the Saints in recent seasons in Chris Ivory and Khiry Robinson. Ivory worked out really well. Robinson did not.
Free agent quarterback Geno Smith had a visit with the Giants. There was no indication a signing was imminent. Smith has spent the previous four seasons with the Jets since being drafted in the second round in 2013. At this point, reports indicate the Jets have not ruled out bringing back Smith as the team looks to address its quarterback position. No reports indicate the Jets’ interest is robust since the team could have made an offer for months if they really wanted him back.
The GGN Twitter widget will be on alert for any moves the team makes.
